It’s good to know what’s going on in the life of the church. I hope that this site becomes a place where we can share news of how God is moving in different ministries for the purposes of encouragement and prayer.
A current move that I think is pretty exciting involves our youth (teens to college age). They have been meeting on Friday nights at different houses on their own to have bon fires and worship since the annual youth camp back in June. A number of them were so moved by the spirit of unity and praise at the youth camp services (the Wednesday night service in particular was awesome) that they wanted more. From that the Friday night bon fire gatherings were born.
The best part about these gatherings is that there has been no adult input. It was just our Lord moving in the hearts of our youth and the Lord has been blessing their time together. Their meetings have continued to grow in number as last week youth from another church joined to push the attendance total to 26 and each meeting has given rise to different youth sharing their testimony or devotion. It hasn’t been one person driving the meetings but a true corporate effort with the Spirit of God leading the charge.
It’s exciting to see how God continues to move in such amazing ways. Let’s pray for them as they continue to meet. Let’s pray that as the Gospel is proclaimed in word and song lives would be changed for His glory. Let’s pray that the Spirit of Worship will be protected. Let’s pray that we would be humbled by the unity of the Spirit at work.

“From the mouths of babes…”
It is truly amazing how much we can learn from these young people. During this time on Friday nights they also teach Bible study; rotating each week.
On kind of the same note, there is a group of students from MMBC that have worked the last couple of years on a Bible Club at Monroe High. This year there is another group of students from another church that, unknowingly, started one also (there are 2,500 students). When our students found out, they went to them and asked if they could work together. Our students then gave up some of the authority, and ideas that they had and linked together. Man! If we could learn that attitude, how much better off we would be.
